Breathe

A Change of Place, A Change of Pace
A few weeks ago, I traveled to Italy feeling completely exhausted. I knew I needed a reset — not just physically, but mentally and emotionally too. For me, change becomes easier when I change my surroundings. A new place creates space. Space to breathe, to think, to simply be.
In Italy, everything felt different in the best possible way. I walked unfamiliar streets, followed roads without a plan, and let my gut feeling guide my days. Without realizing it, my thoughts began to slow down. The fresh air, the sound of the sea, and the view of the mountains created a calm I had been missing for a long time.
Staying by the sea was exactly what I needed. Mornings began with soft light, warm air, and small birds visiting my balcony — tiny moments that brought unexpected joy. I spent time journaling, letting thoughts flow freely onto paper. It felt liberating, like making space inside my own mind.
Being alone felt good. Sitting in a small Italian café, drinking coffee surrounded by locals, reminded me how grounding simple rituals can be. There was no rush. Just the present moment. Deep breaths by the sea, a warm breeze on my skin, and the steady rhythm of the waves — all of it felt like a gentle reminder to slow down.
Did I change? Maybe.
Did it feel right? Absolutely.
Did it help? Without a doubt.
Change doesn’t happen overnight. It takes time, patience, and the willingness to make room for it. Sometimes, going to a new place helps us return to ourselves. Listening to what feels right — and allowing ourselves to follow that feeling — can be the beginning of something quietly powerful.
